We had a little adventure during one of our nights off at reservist. All the while, i am not wearing specs and my vision was blurred. As a result, i am unable to give directions at night.

So.. Here’s how the story goes.

Alex mention that we should go massage and he recommended a place called “Ella Spa”. Since Alex recommended that place, we thought that following him should be safe. He is very certain of the place and assured us that its a good place as its recommended by his office team leader. However, soon after we left the camp, his GPS brought us to a damn wulu street.

Realizing that its not the right place, we quickly check on Zhijian’s Iphone and found the right location. After another 5min drive, we reached the Tuas checkpoint. Apparently, the genius have again made the wrong turn.

After turning out of the Tuas checkpoint, we headed back and finally found the exact location.

BUT, to our surprise, Ella Spa was closed. Shaocong then went to check with the security guard there and he says that its been raided and closed since 8 mths ago! 8 freaking mths ago!!! Wonder when did Alex team leader last visited that place. -_-”

Not wanting to go back camp without a massage, Shaocong asked the guard where is the next nearest massage. So, its at japanese garden.

As we were traveling, somehow, we missed an exit on the expressway and got to make a U-turn back. Soon, we arrived at the japanese garden massage place. Upon arrival, we saw alot of ppl going in at the same time. Is this place really that popular?

Zhijian then quickly went in. He says he glanced on a beautiful Malay girl and thinking that this place is so cool to have Malay girl as a masseur. Just when he was about to find out more, the man beside him whipped out his identity card to Zhijian.

“Police here. We are doing a licensing check. You guys mind coming back later?”

OMG! It appears that the big group of people that went in before us are all police. If we didn’t miss that turn, we would be inside and having most probably having our massage or spa session already. Imagine you massaging halfway or soaking in spa and then police come barging into the room. Is that God blessings or what?

We waited outside for another 10min or so and witness alot more people(most prob police) going in. One of the police officer even chatted with us. Maybe he was thinking that we were there for some “exercise”. Looks like we were indeed lucky to have avoided the raid. Else most prob we wont even make it back to camp.

Now that we have totally no mood for massage, we headed to eat Boon Lay power nasi lemak.

On our way back, Mingyao added the final touch to our little adventure. He called and told us that the guardroom was checking for off pass. For those without off pass, names will be taken down and submitted to the RSM for illegal book out. Well, the few of us have always booked out without off pass even if its official nights off.

Upon arriving at the guard room, i just showed my camp pass. The guard commander ask us to show our phones. Luckily, we sort of expected that and showed our antique no camera phones. We were let in without anymore questions. Phew!

All in all, its a fine little adventure that we had and most probably, we will remember it for the rest of the ICT till we MR.

When Teddy played a prank on his mum few mths ago upon his return, his dad thought that he can recognize Teddy from far far away.

Today, it’s his father’s turn to be pranked. I had the opportunity to shoot this entire video hidden in a corner far far away. Should have brought my tripod. :p

When i was doing my toilet *business* at church the previous weekend, i overheard the kid’s worship singing.

Then all of a sudden, i heard a kid that sang at the top of his/her voice, “This is the day, this is the day that the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!”

That suddenly inspires me. How often have we rejoice in the day that our Lord had made?

I also face the issues mentioned above as a wedding photographer. Just feeling weird that some people can spend so much on their wedding gowns, rings, banquet, etc and then set aside so little budget for photography, and expect the best out of it by bargaining like mad with us. They really should get their priorities right.

Its the photos that will last a lifetime.
